The Effects Of Facial Toning

Improving the appearance of the face is something that many, in fact most, people are interested in. Women wear make up to enhance their “natural beauty”. These days more men are interested in facial cleansing products and treatments. It's all in an effort to make our faces look better.


This makes sense, of course, as our faces are the part of us that we share most with those around us. You talk to people face to face! The way your face looks is how people remember you and think of you and what they connect with your name. For all these reasons, we want to look our best.

Some people decide to get the face they want by artificial means, using technology, and a doctor, to help them get the right shape of nose or plump up their lips. Others are interested in more simple and natural options. One of these is facial toning.

What exactly is facial toning? It's exactly what it sounds like. In the same way that you tone the muscles of your body to stay healthy and strong and to keep your body looking good, you can tone the muscles of your face to keep your face looking and feeling great, too!

There are many different facial exercises. Some have been compiled into an actual facial exercise program named Facercise, which sells books and DVDs about how to care for your face and improve your appearance through special exercises targeting different areas of the face and working all 57 muscles in the face and neck.

However, you can also find good information about facial exercises online. There are many articles and websites written with specific instructions as to how to perform the exercises and you can even watch videos of them to be sure you're doing them correctly.

Admittedly, watching the videos if you're not serious about facial toning can be a bit of a laugh. Imagine, how can you tone the muscles in your face? You have to move them in different ways, which of course causes you to make a lot of funny faces. But if those funny faces bring results, do them!

Facial toning doesn't actually make you lose facial fat, if that's one of your issues. It won't give you higher cheekbones, as some silly site absolutely promise, but they do strengthen and tighten your muscles, which means that anything on your face is better supported. It also means that if you have little fat, it can bring out your cheekbones, wherever they are.

Facial toning is a great tool for those who are experiencing the effects of aging on their facial skin. Different areas sag or droop. Maybe it's your eyes, cheeks, around your mouth or your neck that you feel is dropping. Facial toning can help your face to support your skin, giving you a firmer, more youthful appearance.
